The purpose of the Committee is to serve as the advisory body for the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors on matters affecting the quality of the local environment. The Committee will research, analyze, and propose methods for Gloucester County to promote and implement science-based sustainable methods and practices within the County, including but not limited to current infrastructure, future development, green energy, litter prevention, solid waste management and recycling, beautification, and natural resource protection.
Board Information
Regular meetings shall be held as needed but at least quarterly. The first regular meeting of the calendar year will be called the organizational meeting, and during that meeting the election of officers will occur and a meeting schedule will be set for the year.
The committee shall consist of nine Gloucester County citizens appointed by the Board of Supervisors. One non-voting liaison from the Board of Supervisors and one non-voting staff liaison shall also serve on the committee. Members will be appointed for an initial term of one year with subsequent terms for two years.
